Tour Itinerary

Your day begins with an early pick-up from your Kigali hotel at around 4:30 AM. You'll enjoy a scenic 2.5-hour drive through Rwanda’s stunning hillsides to Volcanoes National Park. You'll arrive at the park headquarters for check-in and a pre-trek briefing (around 7:00 AM). Then, you'll head into the bamboo forests where the golden monkeys live. The trek is moderate and offers a chance to observe these rare and energetic primates. You'll spend up to one hour with them as they leap between branches and forage on the forest floor. After your trek, you'll visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, located near the park. Here, take a guided tour to learn about Dian Fossey’s legacy, current gorilla conservation efforts, and the importance of protecting Rwanda’s primates and habitats. You'll explore the museum, research facilities, and beautiful eco-friendly campus grounds.
